HNRG PHOVOVOLTAIC THERMAL PANEL

HNRG is an innovative integrated photovoltaic and solar thermal panel for producing both electricity and thermal energy for hot domestic water and heating all year long.
It is also a cooling system for photovoltaic modules, whose main feature is represented by the ability to reduce the operating temperature and therefore increase the annual production.
On the back of the module, an aluminium collector is applied; it moves the thermal energy from the photovoltaic module to a closed circuit containing water and glycol.
A heat exchanger puts the thermal energy in the heating system and reduces the operating temperature of the photovoltaic cells, thus increasing their efficiency.

FUNCTIONING
Traditional PV systems’ cells always work at very high temperatures; this causes an efficency decrease.
1) MAX ELECTRICITY
The PV system’s efficiency is increased by about 15% on yearly basis at Milan’s latitude. A great amount of about 26°C water is produced.
There is the chance to produce hot water at temperatures similar to the ones of traditional thermal solar systems (60°C in summer, 30°C in winter). The electric efficiency of the system is increased anyway.
